Weather TThe Savanna have warm temperature year round. There are two different seasons in a savanna, for example a long dry season (winter), and a wet season (summer). In the winter an average of 4 inches of rain falls, however no rain falls between December and February. It's actually a little cooler during this dry season, but don't take out your sweater just yet it's still around 70° F. In the grassland approximately 15 to 25 inches of rain falls during May. It gets very hot and humid during the rainy season. During the day the humid air rises off the ground and collides with cooler air above and turns into rain. The best month to go for an African safari are in September, October, March or April, when temperatures aren't so hot.
